Ingredients:
5 lb boneless pork loin or roast
8-10 whole cloves
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp paprika
1 cup ketchup
1/4 cup orange juice
4 Tbs honey
2 Tbs soy sauce
1 Tbs lemon juice
2 tsp onion powder
1 Tbs dried parsley
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp thyme
Turn oven to broil. Place roast on a broiling pan or shallow pan and broil 15 minutes, turning to brown all sides. Remove from oven and cool slightly.
While cooling, stir together ketchup, orange juice, honey, soy sauce, lemon juice, and all spices.
Stud meat on all sides with the cloves. Place roast in crock pot. Sprinkle with nutmeg and paprika. Stir the ketchup and spice mixture a bit, then pour it over the roast. Cover with crock pot lid and cook on low for 8-10 hours. (Hi: 4-5 hours)
Optional: Remove meat from pot and keep warm under foil. Juices can be thickened, if desired, with 1 and 1/2 Tbs cornstarch mixed into 2 Tbs cold water, then add a few Tbs of the hot liquid into the cold cup, then stir it all gradually into the pot. Let simmer until thickened and use as a gravy over the roast.
